Hi, I have a few E1's and I'm in a bit of a testing phase. My first E1 is connected via the Aqara App via matter and is working well with the external sensor. Everything shows and plays well in HE. And KKossev has been extra helpful as ever.

However I prefer to keep as many devices as I can hooked up directly to HE via Zigbee. Albeit, my 2nd Tester TRV is connect directly to HE via Zigbee, I can't find a way or a driver whereby the external temperature sensor can be used. I've scoured the forum but I've drawn a blank. Chat GPT implies that it's possible but I can't see the preference settings in KKossevs driver which GPT implies.

Is there a way to connect the E1 TRV directly to HE with ZigBee and also utilise an external temperature sensor, is anyone doing this and if so, what driver do you use?

Hi Stu,

Adding support for the Aqara E1 external temperature sensor is quite complex, and it has remained on my to-do list for so long that, honestly, I don't think there's a chance it will be added to this driver before the current heating season ends...

Aqara's own hubs provide undoubtedly the best support for Aqara devices. If the E1 TRV exposed via the Aqara Matter Bridge is stable, this could be the most effective way to integrate it with Hubitat for now.

Cool, that works for me Krassimir. I was unsure if I was missing an opportunity. Looks like some of the info online is bogus. Yes the matter version is working as expected. As you know, I just prefer to use Zigbee and one hub with is Hubitat where I can. Appreciated your help as ever...Stu
