Registered iPhone with Hubs

Runningl C8 platform version 2.4.0.146, app 2.0.8 (343),

I have 4 hubs, 1 C7, 3 C8s

I have notification set up on my Hubs, to notify me when each hub has an alarm. Which always worked great. I just bought a new C8 last week, after setting it up I was testing alarms, my notification was not working, so after troubleshooting I notice NOW (something changed) that I can ONLY get notified if my iphone is registered to the a Hub AND if I have me app selected to that Hub, but now I can not get other notification until I select each Hub

Was something changed in the app/cloud in reference to getting text messages to iphones from Hubs

And now when I which Hubs, I get a new message "Mutliple devices found. Please select the one you'd like to use with this moble device.

So I select my iPhone, then when I which Hubs, I get the same message, then when I go back, i get the same message. Why I have to keep getting this message and keep selecting my mobile device.

Select hub, log out of that hub, log back in, when prompted let it create the notification device... Rinse and repeat. Though if you're using multiple hubs not in the same mesh, you're better off installing pushover (one license will cover all the hubs and it's about the same cost as a starbucks coffee and more reliable)

I have been using these hubs for years, it worked flawless to notify me. What's changed?

Not sure, but your general solution is to log out of all hubs then log back in and let it re create the device

Do you mean when using the iPhone Hubitat app, select each hub, then when prompted, select my iphone from the list prompted, then get out, then select the next hub, repeat? If so, I did that several times before asking for help

no, actually sign out of the hub... Then sign back in, you will be prompted to create a notification device.

done

Make sure the new devices are inserted to your notifcations (you can use device swap). You will need to log out and log back into each hub.

I want to make sure something. When I logged out then logged back in, my iphone (that was always a device) was listed already, I just had to select it. Was that correct, or you wanted me to create another iPhone device?

I would have created a new device. Then use device swap to change out the old device with the new.

Ok, using my laptop browser, I logged into each hub using remote admin, I went to each hub, found my iphone, and did a text test and received a text from each hub. Which works, so each hub can send me a text to my iphone. Like is always did. So why should I create a new iphone device for each hub, and swap out the working iphione device. I'm trying to understand why or how this just stopped working when I added my new C8 today.

I'm trying to understand what's really broken

I'm trying the Pushover driver, seems to be the best route s you mentioed.

Can you sen me a screen shot on how to do "device swap"

Thank you

The trick of letting the app create a new device is usually only important when moving to the new 2.x mobile app if no notifications are working. It may help here but not sure yet.

I believe your issue you are having is that previously you could get notifications from all your hubs on the mobile app at the same time, no matter which hub you were currently logged into on the app. Correct? You added one new hub and now that does not work, you are only getting notifications for the hub that is logged in?

Normally when you switch from one hub to another on the new mobile app (2.x) it should remember your device and not even ask you to select it again. If it is asking you every time this could be part of the issue.

My suggestion would be to go to the "new" virtual mobile device on the new hub, and the device info tab. Copy the "DNI" to a text file.

Then go to every other hub and the virtual mobile device for the same phone, edit the DNI and make it match the new one.

After that you may need to switch across to every hub and select your device. It should then allow you to switch hubs without asking to select your device every time. I think thats going to be the trick to make it all sync up.

Here are the docs for the Swap Apps function. Although the docs site is not loading for me at the moment so it might be offline.

Same here.
