Refresh on opening dashboard

Seems the new app frequently refreshes (or changes cloud to local I'm not sure) when opening the dashboard page in the new app. As in I see the list of my dashboards and if I scroll down it jumps back to top because it refreshed. Or even more annoying is I open a dashboard then the refresh happens and it boots me back to the list of the dashboard.

It was annoying in the old app as a quick open of the app meant I had to wait a few more seconds.. But in the new app it doesn't show the notification showing its going to local dashboard, so it's worse in the new app as I don't even know I need to wait.

Is this a refresh, or is it the app opening as cloud and changing to local? Can this be improved? If I open the app to quickly turn a light off I feel it doubles the time it should take if this didn't occur.

Edit: seems if I click the dashboard tab and start scrolling as soon as I see the list, every time it jumps to the top of the page again. So I have to wait to start scrolling.

Ok looking at this a little more. Does the app open as cloud by default? So switches to local every time? I have noticed this a number of times but I haven't checked enough to be conclusive.

Could it open straight to local when connected to wifi or a specific ssid? Or open in the state it was last time?

I realise this delay is only a few seconds, but turning the lights on from a dashboard is for convenience and to do things quickly. The new app seems to load dashboards faster so that is good, just this slows it down. I find voice isn't ideal most of the time (I have google home setup for lights) so I rely on dashboards a lot.

Is there any reason why the android app opens as cloud by default, regardless of if I'm connected to my home wifi or the previous type of dashboard I was viewing in the app.

It would be nice to hear from a developer if this will be worked on, or the reason why this behaviour is needed. Again I know it's only a matter of waiting a few seconds when the app opens, but for my use case that seems to often double the time/effort to turn a single light off.

What version of the app and what phone do you have?

I'm troubleshooting some other stuff with the app (geofence updates) but I'm noticing it never shows local on my pixel 8 even when connected to the same network as my hub.

Not a developer here, but if you just want to use the dashboard or access the hub while at home, why not just use links in a browser instead of the app?

I think the app used to be better in this regard, but I could be wrong.

Yes I preferred the old app for everything except the loading speed. So when I got this I d excited to see the dashboards load quickly.. Just this slows it down instead.

I don't have the geofence problems some have. I did have the logging out problem (which missed up geofence) but that is better now (not removed but better)

Interesting point re links. I may see how that goes.

Yeah, why not.
Mine looks like this (the token hasn't expired in quite a while, so I don't know what that's about):
