Rapidly Cycle Z Wave Switch

I have some LED cans that have perimeter rings which glow if you turn the switch on-off-on in rapid succession. It's pretty easy with a conventional switch, but takes me numerous tries with my GE Z Wave switch. Could I create a double tap automation that would complete this task with specified timing?

Still new to Hubitat and definitely automations

Yes you could, but not sure if the switch will react any faster than physically tapping the paddles? I assume you are having issues with the timing due to slight lag from the tap vs when the relay reacts?

I know I read in the past of someone with the exact same lights doing trying to do this, I think they eventually got it to work.

A virtual switch can do auto off in 500 ms (half a second).
I just tried it on a GE switch.

How do I do a virtual switch?

you go into Devices and Add Device. Then on the next screen you choose virtual, and then pick switch on the dropdown.

I'm not seeing the preferences, or anything that makes sense. Sorry, I'm new to this. Here is my screenshot:

I think you have to save device first.

It's under Preferences.

This is how i did something simular:

What good is a virtual switch going to do?

You need to make a Rule in Rule Manager or Button Controller.

RM adjustable in ms, that's what you want.

I had that virtual switch turn on and off a GE/JASCO switch in Simple Automation.
I guess it'd be okay, if 500ms would do it for him, but he sounds like he has to fine tune it.

I'm still a relative newbie in RM, but you still need a trigger for the rule right? And why not a virtual switch? Put it on a dashboard, use it programmatically, etc.

I haven't used button controller, yet.
