So inside the Quirky Pivot Power strips is an ElectricImp board (they also used it in the multi-sensor discs).

The way they pair to your account is via a blink pattern sent from the app on your phone. (If you need to re-connect or change the Wifi, you need to do the reset pattern first, also in the Wink app).
I have 3 of these that I bought years ago, actually just pulled them out of a box a few weeks back and re-set them up. Right before the Wink fiasco. Wink does still present them to at least Alexa.
So perhaps a cloud integration might be possible.
But the best scenario would be local control, and that would involve trying to change the electricimp setup (if it's even possible).
