Quirky Pivot Power Strips

I have a Wink Hub and want to make the switch to the Hubitat. Before I make the leap, I have 3 of these power strips and want to know if they are work with the hubitat.

They've worked very well for me and the only gripe I have on them is the long delay since it goes through Wink and the cloud.

I've got an awesome halloween and christmas display using these switches and my cameras.

There is no integration for these (not even a SmartThings driver). However, you can continue to use them with IFTTT > Hubitat.

It requires some soldering/flashing to get these working locally. Even then there's no driver here on Hubitat if you manage the soldering. You'd need to use MQTT.

I have one so I keep my eyes on what is out there for these. But so far not promising.

Also I dislike the IFTTT implementation as wink is struggling so who knows how long they will support it.

So I have two of these strips and would love to integrate them. It looks like ST has an 'app' to add them, so maybe it's possible to port something over to connect with HE? Someone with better understanding of this than myself would need to help though.. I'm wanting to learn all of this back and side but haven't gotten there yet.

That was 2014, it involved Quirky (before Wink!) and it was a cloud integration. Quote from that page:

To access Quirky (Connect), tap β€œApps” from the left-hand Menu, select the β€œ + ” symbol, scroll down to find the β€œLabs” section, enter your Quirky username and password, and –

I doubt it still works, and would rely on Wink being there even IF it works.

I've never used ST so wasn't sure how that side of things worked there. But yeah if it's a cloud required intergation that a no go then.

Although ironically quirky still has it's own app on the playstore made by a different developer than wink. If it works and is separate somehow might give it a little life when wink implements the subscription fee.

So inside the Quirky Pivot Power strips is an ElectricImp board (they also used it in the multi-sensor discs).

The way they pair to your account is via a blink pattern sent from the app on your phone. (If you need to re-connect or change the Wifi, you need to do the reset pattern first, also in the Wink app).
I have 3 of these that I bought years ago, actually just pulled them out of a box a few weeks back and re-set them up. Right before the Wink fiasco. Wink does still present them to at least Alexa.
So perhaps a cloud integration might be possible.
But the best scenario would be local control, and that would involve trying to change the electricimp setup (if it's even possible).
