Qolsys door/window sensors & smoke/CO detectors

I recently canceled my ADT service (too expensive!) but wanted to be able to still control some of the ZWave devices the system used (a kwikset lock and some outlets). I got a HE and got all of that set up pretty quickly.

I have a Qolsys contact sensor on every door an window in my house, and I have a Qolsys smoke and a CO2 detector as well. These all previously were communicating wirelessly with the iQ panel from ADT somehow. They do not appear to be ZWave as far as I can tell though.

Is there any way to connect these devices though my HE? I have searched all over and found nothing so far.

Do you know the model #s of any of the devices? Or the panel?

You can use Qolsys sensors via the IQ Panel 2/4/Pro. They are not Z-Wave, they are likely PowerG. You need the dealer code for the panel so that you can configure the Control4 integration. I don't know what, if any, requirements there are to make an ADT branded Qolsys panel work in this mode.

Ah dang, well good to know. I no longer have the iQ panel and don’t really want one anyway. I was hoping they were ZWave somehow or maybe there was a way to make my HE communicate with it via some extra piece of hardware, is there one?

If not, I guess I’m gonna try to sell these sensors somehow.

The extra piece of hardware is an IQ Panel :). They're good alarms and easy to DIY. With the right boards you can even add Hubitat devices to it via dry contacts. You can self monitor on Alarm.com for a reasonable price. One of the popular vendors:

So it would be possible, but only with the iQ panel. Well, in that case I’m really not too interested I suppose. It would be cool but honestly it kind of sounds like a bit of a hassle and added expense for something I kind of just wanted because it might be easy or cool to do.

Good info though, thanks!
