Problem with latest hubitat update

I didn't mean to imply that local edits are cumbersome/timely or that a few extra clicks destroy anyone's day. Just offering that users now can brainlessly click-and-scroll without the need for search. (My OCD likes things tidy and expected. Certainly not a big deal.)

At which point the universe trembled due to the severe Incongruency Effect caused by putting an obvious App into Integrations...

All is right again. Phew.

Thinking out loud, where does Echo Speaks go? app, integration, or automation? Itโ€™s kind of all three, just now living its best life in maintenance mode

Patience young man! Platform 2.6.0 will have a new category called "Chillaxin'". Echo Speaks will be there.

It can be argued two ways, but imo itโ€™s an integration because it is bringing new devices into Hubitat and maintaining the connectivity with them.

IMHO - Anything that requires external credentials and/or lan/internet connections should be integrations. Even if it brings in some aspects of app or automation, the integration should take precedence. One of the benefits of the segregation will be the ability to quickly find all such integrations in one place.

My thoughts (not that anyone else has to care or agree) are that Integrations and Automations are specialty "apps" that should be used in that order, and all else would fall under apps that do not do either.

I agree with your logic. :vulcan_salute:

Where @tonesto7 feels like putting it under....?

When in doubt, do nothing. The app will be in apps as it's always been. Why scratch your head if it doesn't itch?

Reasonable logic behind why we are even discussing whether this was necessary to begin with. Comically enough, Iโ€™m out of discord. Enjoy your weekend! Tomorrow is onto other solutions and new discord.

I'm thinking the Forum might need a bit of makeover as well.

Interesting. I'm new to HE and I thought this was a very smart change. I was finding the old Apps section to be overly cluttered and was thinking that just this kind of change would help. May have a lot to do with what you're used to, I suppose.

I thought that might be the case for new users.

Many years ago (HTF was 2007 almost 20 years ago! :weary:), I was a Business Analyst and spent most of my time working with business folk to replatform / redevelop internal apps onto Oracle Appex. I'd like to think I learnt a lot about good UI/UX and workflow design from that role.

I am still fine with the changes. But I understand that people want things the way they want things. And to that end, I think that what would be better is if there was a folder option. A way to just create folders, both for apps and devices. That way we could just organize in whatever way pleased us. I think that would make everyone much happier than trying to get everyone to conform one way or another.

Hmmm... For devices, there are rooms

True. And I have over 40 "rooms".

But each room can only fit one sensor...
