Presence Sensors and Automated Backups

Hi,

I seem to have an issue with my presence sensor is leaving my Geo-fense when my system does an automated backup. For the past few weeks I couldn't figure out why my sensor would leave around 3 am every few days. Until i did a manual backup and notice my presence sensor left and returned. I then went back and checked my logs and it seems to coincide with the scheduled backups now things make sense. Is there anything I can do to solve this issue? I had to go back and change my rule machine rules so that my doors don't unlock in the middle of the night.

Just to clarify, is this a presence sensor fob (i.e. a physical device) or your phone with the hubitat mobile app as a presence device?

Yes it's the Smartthings Presence Sensor.

Just checked mine and I am not seeing that.
It might be how they are connected through a router device causing it.
Mine are set to timeout at the lowest set point of 2 minutes.
Does your backup take longer than 2 minutes?
the SmartThings presence sensors report every 20 seconds so as long as your backup is complete in less than 2-3 minutes it should not go departed.
or the router it is going through is not reporting often enough.

Also are you using the Stock DH "SmartThings presence sensor V4"?

It took 2mins and 20 seconds and my device departed right after it finished the backup and i clicked the download button.

try setting the SmartThings presence sensor depart time to longer than 2 minutes and see if that fixes it.
seems a bit long to create a back up but if you have your hub loaded up with custom apps and devices that could be you issue not really a SmartThings presence sensor issue but a slow hub issue.

I am having the same issue! 3:05 AM... Then my wife (my customer in this effort) tells me when she comes downstairs in the morning, all the LIGHTS ARE ON! Not Happy.

Guess I will try the timeout setting.

try using the Xbee3 presence sensor DH it will work with SmartThings arrival/presence sensors and you can set to 10 minutes sometimes the 5 minutes with the stock SmartThings DH will not be enough.

My stock DH goes up to 15 mins

Didn't notice Hubitat updated the stock SmartThings presence DH with 10 & 15 minute haven't used them in so long.
