Fun fact I order a August smart lock on good Friday through here to see if I could retrofit it. What was not . So I end up selling it through EBay still with a 5€ profit. They were sold here at double cost.
Yes. August had talked about development of a lock that could handle mortise type, but I think they abandoned the plan. Not enough strength I guess. Dana lock can obviously, since they're from Denmark. I think they have more torque in their lock with the larger batteries and a more powerful motor.
The issue I faced when trying to retrofit was not even the torque. But the angle of rotation. August lock only does 90 degrees what is not enough for latch and single turn bolt. Most EU cylinders turn the latch 0lus two turns on the bolt.
