I'm testing out HE in Lebanon and I'm facing issues due to power outages.
Obviously, all of the electronics, such as the routers, repeaters and HE Hub itself are connected to a UPS system, and obviously NOT all the control switches and devices are connected to the UPS.
I'm using several protocols for testing purposes, but mostly, I'm using the Sonoff ZigBee Mini Switch; I've configured it as a generic ZigBee switch.
So what's happening is that when the power goes OFF and then comes back on, they wont get their last state back.
I tried searching the community for answers, but no luck.
Can anyone help? Would really appreciate it as it would solve a major issue that would allow this system to work great in Lebanon for people.
In my case, I have a UPS with 200Ah batteries that would last up to 6 hours (up to 7Amps), so running out of batteries is not probable. Following what you said, no I didn't try to initiate a controlled restart to my hub, since there is no static timing for power outages in Lebanon which happens frequently on a daily basis.
Very true, but is there a way to know the power state when its back on and automatically restart the HE Hub accordingly? Or activate a desired routine?
Understood, so just to be clear on what you are saying, whenever I see my devices are not in the state they should be due to power failure, I should go to the HUB settings and restart the system, right?
But this solution is not really convenient if I want to install this system to a customer.
There is not a work around for this to make it happen automatically?
Correct me if I understood something wrong from your side.
Not really. I meant that if a power down happens and the hub restarts because of it, you can then enable an automation that recognizes the restart and then sets all the bulbs as you define, including the conditions that you state.
My HE Hub is connected to my ups system and will never go out of power, and I will always need it that way as well as my other main electronics. so following on what you are saying, this scenario you are offering is not going to happen. Is there any other way to do so?
Appreciate your efforts and sharing btw.
