OK after a few test and $ spent on thermometers here is the conclusion:
- Tried a few generic floating thermometers including La Crosse. They all works a few months but started leaking and stop working. Anyhow none integrated with a "Tablet dashboard"
- I ordered Govee Amazon.com: GoveeLife Smart Pool Thermometer with Smart Gateway, Digital Swimming Pool Thermometer Temperature Monitor with IPX7 Waterproof, Remote App Notification Alert for Ice Bath Tub, Fishbowl, Pond,Hot Tub : Patio, Lawn & Garden with a gateway. They seem well built and had some colored rings to tell between Pool and Spa. Tried to get the API key from Govee and they answered that the API is not supported on Bluetooth devices. I told them that these were Wifi device but they just kept spitting the same answer. So no integration. I was able to show it as widget on the tablet but could not control the font size and these were very small. (see picture of that dashboard). Also because it was an older tablet Always On Display was not available so it went dark after 10 min. No a great solution
- Then I got the Ecowitt WN36 (Floating for the SPA), WN34L (Fixed for the Pool) and GW1100 Wifi Gateway. The integration is very easy and now I was able to build a proper dashboard. Because I use Full Kiosk Browser this provide the AOD
