So a while back I ordered a poe splitter for that unit and the splitter comes with a 5.5x2.1mm jack. It is obviously incorrect for the Hue bridge. Does anyone know what size power jack is in that thing. I can't find any specs on it. I also don't have a caliper that can fit in it to take an accurate measurement Anyone else using a POE splitter on theirs?
How odd... I JUST opened (10 min ao) a 2.1mm to 2.5mm adapter and moved my Phillips hub to PoE. It came back online as I was reading your message.
Or, if the soldering iron is already hot,

Bitte.
I found this, hopefully will work with the poe adapter I have
Same one I used. It worked just fine. I did check the polarity of the plug before I powered it up, though
Going off topic a bit… what devices do others use POE besides the hue bridge?
Pretty much all my hubs, cameras and Rasp-Pi. All my POE switches are on UPS.
Hue, Lutron, Arlo... anything I can. And my PoE switches are also on UPS. I really like it on the HEs because you can power cycle them right from the network management console without worrying about breaking the surface-mount micro USB connectors.
Loving remote power cycle as well. Only problem for me was when I accidentally rebooted my POE switch without shutting down my hubs first
Oops. I will have to keep that in mind! All of my switches (I have 5) are PoE, though only two have active PoE devices. But one of them powers all my APs... !
I use Catalyst 3750-X switches. Easy to reboot a single port either via telnet cli or web interface.
Especially useful when one of our AP's goes wonky
