Is there any way to pair a matter device on a different subnet than the HE hub? Any firewall rules or port forwarding that can be configured to allow it?
I think this would be difficult given that Matter relies on mDNS with link-local IPv6 address, which are at least difficult (if not impossible--I'm not an expert) to route across subnets. If you can figure out a way to make that work in your setup, probably.
But the general advice is to have Hubitat and your Matter device on the same network/vLAN.
