Sounds like the Hub was maxed out with Zigbee devices, would explain why they paired after removing devices.
Could be, but I already had well over the 32 Zigbee device limit that supposedly exists.
Yeah but if there was 32 devices connected directly to the hub, then it would still be maxed out. Depends on the routes the devices take through the repeaters.

It definitely exists. You had V1 outlets that would repeat for your other V1 devices, but evidently not for Hue sensors, which I believe are zigbee 3.0 devices.
