Can someone explain what these are used for? What does date need and number represents what (might be good for others searching since I couldn’t find it

I want to run every other day at a certain time; assuming RM is the best option vs these?

Thanks!

I also wrote a little app to do this...

I too would like to know the parameter to use to set water ever x days.

I have tried:
0 07/22/2019 2
1 07/22/2019 2
2 07/22/2019 0
2 07/22/2019 1

@mike.maxwell any help or is this not working ?

I documented the commands here:

https://docs.hubitat.com/index.php?title=Orbit_Hose_Water_Timer

Let me know if you have any questions.

You rock @chuck.schwer !

I'm not sure the schedule everyxdays is working. The state variables says it's off.

The device is kinda slow, after a minute or so refresh your browser.. here is mine, I put in 1, 15:00, 8 for values:

I put mine in a hour ago.

Try the Refresh button on the device, and if it still says its off,, try running the command again.

Ok it's working. State updates are really slow.

Hi Chuck(@chuck.schwer)
I now have a problem pairing Orbit hose timer to HE.
About a year ago I've paired two of these devices without any problem. One of the devices recently lost the battery charge, so I changed batteries, but device didn't reconnect. I've tried exclusion and reset(5 presses on the reset button) multiple times, but it didn't help to re-pair the device back to HE regardless of pairing it in place or few inches from HE. I thought maybe the device broke, so I bought another one on Ebay, but still the same problem and it can't be paired even after multiple resets.
The strangest thing is that both old and new device can be easily paired to ST. ST recognize them as a Thing, but was able to update time on the device.
Can you check if something was broken in subsequent HE releases after initial Orbit Hose driver release?

Reboot the hub and try again.
Sometime the device failed during initialization but added as a "device". Maybe look at the device list for unknown device.
All else failed, go to bed and try again the next day. Possible a hub nightly automatic clean will solve your pairing the next time.

If anyone sees these for sale second hand or otherwise please holler. I wouldn't mind getting a spare before they totally disappear (end up retired to the trash heap).

BUMP....just in case anyone has seen one of these bubble up somewhere.

This is clearly a case of a RELIABLE device that went to the graveyard with MUCH less appreciation than it deserves.

Sips battery, does what it's suppose to....never complains. THEY GOT THIS ONE RIGHT !

And POOF...it's mothballed ! GRRRRRR

Well my experience wasn't quite as good as yours but that was back in the ST days.. Now I just use a solenoid valve + smart plug. For my purposes it's been great and a lot more responsive.

Yeah I hear ya, these are just so easy to plop into place when and where I need them. I will be going more industrial on some segments so they will eventually end up on the shelf if they don't bite the dust first.

Just gotta say, for what they do, self contained, valving water, with a radio, on battery...I'm surprised they haven't failed me yet.

Nothing this affordable with that mix ever seems to work long outdoors.
