Old GE-JASCO ZWave (not plus) outlets reported physical events on C4 but not C7 hubs

I'm moving from a dead C4 to a C7 hub -- one gotcha I've run into is I have a few old GE-JASCO ZW4101 outlets -- on the C4 these devices would report physical events, on the C7 they don't -- just digital. (I've done several configure/refresh/Zwave repair cycles).

The default driver is Generic ZWave Outlet. It's possible that on the old hub I'd replaced this with a different/user driver, but if so I don't remember what it was.

Discussion I find in the community seems to indicate I need to use the ZWave-Poller app -- but the outlets don't show up in the lists of available devices in that app.

Any advice? I'm thinking I probably just need to put these in a box and buy some ZWave Plus replacements

Is it possible you had the ZWave Polling app installed on the old hub, but not on the new?

Also grasping at straws, but it could be that an outlet driver doesn't expect physical events. Maybe the generic ZWave switch driver instead?

There's a disconnect here.

Z-Wave switches/dimmers/outlets do not report a change in their status except some devices made by Leviton that made use of Hail, which made the controller poll them to query status.

GE/Jasco Z-Wave devices did not use Hail.

So there are two possibilities here:

  1. You used a different driver on the C-4 (a switch driver) that permitted these devices to be added to the Z-Wave poller app.
  2. That they are not ZW4101, but the similar looking GE/Jasco 45703, which is a Z-Wave+ device, but you are using the wrong driver for it on the C-7.

Thanks @HAL9000 -- I think you're right -- I must've had the Poller running on the old hub, though I don't remember setting it up. And you're also right about switching the driver to Generic ZWave Switch -- making that change caused the devices to appear in the Poller's list. Setting all that up and a RM rule using the physical switch capability and it works again - thanks very much for your help

Thanks @aaiyar -- definitely the ZW4101 (or at least that's what's printed on the back of the device) -- using the Generic ZWave Switch driver instead of the Outlet driver did the trick, this must've been what I had set up in the C4 -- thanks very much for your help.
