Been getting some odd entries in my Zigbee logs. Any pointers how to chase this down? I have no device named D795. Over the past few weeks I have gotten several weird devices listed.
Neighbors?
Anything previously joined that you removed? Unless reset (most Zigbee devices will do this if removed while they are online, though some odd brands don't--nor will any if it was off at that time, e.g., disconnected from power), it may continue to think it's on your network, send things, and get logged by its old "short address" (in Zigbee logs--not regular logs since there is no device), with no device name since the hub no longer knows about it.
Thanks for the suggestions Robert. I'm thinking it would have to be a device which I removed from the hub, but never factory reset or joined to another hub. In my move from my C4 to a C7 I have removed many zigbee devices. And some will not be used any longer. However, they all have had their batteries removed so they should not be communicating with any hub. My closest neighbor is probably 500 feet away. Not really hurting anything, but curious why the entries appear on a regular basis. Thanks again.
The device isn't using the usual 0x104 Home Automation profile. A search for profileID 0xC216 turns up a manufacturer specific profile registered to AlertMe (which appears to be a UK smart tech company, since acquired and renamed Centrica Connected Home... Lowe's in the US had some relationship with them). Maybe some kind of energy monitoring device?
I've long suspected my smart water meter sometimes shows up on my zigbee logs, can't confirm tho. My closest neighbor, although almost 80, is a short wave radio operator and might have zigbee devices, and been meaning to ask him.
Also I know certain zigbee devices can have 2 endpoints, i have a few.
Here is one, a Zigbee 3.0 socket, works with HE, not sure what the second endpoint does
