I run my vacuum at night mostly (which is why it is dark), I don't want my lights on/off at night. 
But if the i7 works in the dark, then there ya go - no issue. My neato definitely works in the dark with no issues too.

I am just tired of the subscription model. I would avoid this or any product if it has a monthly fee attached. This isn't like the electric bill where you are paying for actual consumption.
I would be even less likely to buy this where they "brick" it even after you have effectively paid for the device. They say you own this device, but if it won't work without paying then do you really own it?
