The notification app works fine with sending text or audio notifications. But it'd be really great to be able to define actions for a lot more flexibility. Sometimes when I get an notification I want to do a bit more with automation than just cry out loud.
But then it wouldn’t be the notifications app. It would be basic rules, room lighting, Hubitat safety monitor, rule machine, etc. Any of the other built-in automation apps that are intended to actually do something (other than just notify) when triggered.

Ok, then the other rules need to have the addition of bounce protection ("Only once within this number of minutes") added!
That can be done a number of ways in Rule Machine, and other apps mentioned above may have similar options, depending on your exact goal. If you need help making any of them work, someone can probably suggest a rule or other app configuration if you provide a specific, concrete example of one automation you're wanting to create.
