Notification App Stopped Working

Whats up guys. For months I have had the notification app setup to send me a notification thru the hubitat app when my door unlocks. It worked great, then one day just stopped working all together. I have deleted the devices and readded them, i have uninstalled the app and reinstalled, I also wrote the rule many times. Its just not working anymore..

I get notifications thru HSM fine, using the same devices. What can I look at in the notification app to get this working again?

I've had this happen to me on android. I went in to the app settings and cleared cache and data and rebooted my phone. It started working again.

Does this mean that you are able to get notifications on your phone from other Hubitat apps? What if you go to the device edit page and try to send yourself a notification manually? You receive that, correct?

Have you confirmed that the status of your lock is updating in Hubitat? Can you show the events listing for your lock?

ahh let me try. I have an android as well

Yes I get notifications from other apps such as HSM and rule machine. I currently have the same rule in rule machine and works fine, but id rather it in notifications to use some of the other quick options without having to write it out in the rule

I am wondering about some of the nomenclature used in the app. Where you select the lock device it says "Select Lock Codes" but then below that there is a drop-down for lock codes also. The first selection should be "Select Lock Device". I wonder if this is just a labeling problem or if it is assigning the same variable twice?

@bravenel or @mike.maxwell or @chuck.schwer I think someone needs to take a look at the lock portion of Notifications. At a minimum, it looks like something is mislabeled (the lock device selection). Obviously I can't tell if there is something else that is going on.

good eye, i didnt even notice that...

You've been looking at it too long. Eventually our brains see what we think we should see, not what's actually there.

I'll look into it. It's just the label on the device selector that's goofy. For every other device it uses the device type name for the device selector. This one needs to be a special case, where it just says Lock.

Fixed. Will be in next release.

Sorry to harp but I'm not quite sure if you're saying it was just a cosmetic issue or this was the cause of the notification problems that @Rabbithole was experiencing. Thanks Bruce.

Cosmetic.

Thanks.

So, @Rabbithole, looking at your issue, you say that you're able to get the same thing to work from Rule Machine....do you still want to try and debug this one? I mean, if you have it working, I don't really see the point. The only thing I would try next is to remove the variables out of the notification and see if that works. Next would be to try only one of the two devices. After that would be to try only one lock code and see if that works. You'd have to identify where the failure point is.

I think lock codes were recently fixed in Notifier. That is, I'm pretty sure they work as expected.

@bravenel, I can confirm that using the "Any Lock Code" selection does not work as expected. I was unable to get notifications from the app until I selected each lock code individually. Selecting "Any Lock code" did not work correctly.

@Rabbithole If you select each of your lock codes individually, you should get notifications correctly. I was able to get it work with everything else the same in your app setup including your variables. Everything else is working correctly.
