Not a HE question

Hello fellow HE users.
I have 2 HE systems set up. One in my Houston house for well over 6 years and another in my condo over seas. Love the system. . A friend just bought a bar and has shelves with the liquor on display. I was mentioning that the shelves would look really good with led strip lighting.
With my own systems I have at least a dozen Gledopto zigbee controllers so I’d like to stick with those ( 5 in 1) but as much as I love HE I wouldn’t feel comfortable installing an HE hub for someone that has never used it nor will need any of the capability. All she really needs is the ability to turn on off. Dim and change colors. Can anyone recommend an easy to use platform? I was thinking of govee as it’s dead simple but most of those done have cutable strips. I have about 80 feet of rgb to install. Was going to go with 4 parallel runs of 24v RGBW COB strips. The controller csn handle the amperage. And Gledopto are bullet proof. I know this isn’t a general form for non HE questions but really would appreciate any advice on a simple zigbee controller. Thanks in advance. Mac

No experience at all, but you got me looking at the Gledopto website.
How about WiFi with an app?
The hardwired push button seems to do only on/off/dim.
How does that RF remote work? Can that work sans network?

Gledopto has wifi controllers with an App. As long as they're comfortable with wiring they'll be fine. The app itself has some basic automations.

Check PixelBlaze. It is very powerful self-contained addressable led controller. And just in case could be controlled by HE.

Thanks Rick
I actually bought a couple of Gledopto wifi controllers by mistake. ESP8266. Thought I was ordering zigbee ( Lazada can be tricky to order anything ). Quick read says I need FCOB 2811s. Think I’ll order a set and see what’s the interface looks like for ease of use
Is this the app you were thinking of?

Cheers. Mac.

If you are going with cob strips the Govee cob kits are cuttable every 8cm. Lthey don't come in super long strips though. They are only 16.5 ft at the longest.

Probably cheaper with Gledopto though. I think the wifi modules are basically just wled controllera. I am curious about how it goes so keep us updated.

Are the lights going in diffusers or just mouting them in a way they wont need it.

Was just going to mount them. That’s why I was thinking the COB strips. I haven’t installed any in my place yet but the pictures look better than seeing the individual LEDs. I ordered a few sets for myself to try out. Hopefully can post a before and after of my place by next week end. Then to plan the bar install. I looked at govee but as you note. The run isnt as long. And bloody expensive compared to a diy. Though. I have some govees too. Decent interface.

I might bite the bullet and install a HE. I took a spare c7 with me when I moved overseas. As long as I can remote in maybe that’s the best way to go. And at least then I can install a few zigbee switches for on off dim color settings.

And they have some terrible lighting in the bar. Wayyy too light. Easy enough to find some zigbee lights and swap them out for dimming capability.
I think I just talked myself into the solution. Hahah
Cheers.

If the gledopto wifi is loaded with WLED then that app will work fine. I have a couple of zigbee ones for my solid light strips and I just use hubitat to directly control those. If the wifi has wled built in you can use the WLED community integration on Hubitat.
