Northern Illinois ComEd Hourly Rate Monitoring

I have created a custom driver and Dashboard Tile to poll the ComEd Website and get the Hourly and 5-minute rates. I use these values to create rules to turn off appliances and adjust my thermostat settings—this way, when the rate is $1.63 per kilowatt, you're not running your air conditioning.

Is anyone interested in this?
I will post to GitHub if there is interest.

I’d be interested. I’m currently doing all kinds of automations based on the rates but can only get them via home assistant. A direct feed option is always preferred.

Okay, I'll start putting together an instruction sheet. I will upload it within the next couple of days.

Also interested.

Here is the link to GitHub. I have a Word Doc. with instructions.

@michael.iovinelli, finally getting around to setting this up. Thanks for your efforts here and for sharing your work!

With that said, after installing the ComEd Rate Tracker device, I also installed the Tile Template Device Manager app into Apps Code without incident, but I don't think it actually creates the app instance automatically as mentioned in the install instructions. Maybe that's just a typo/detail. When I go to install it manually (going to "+ Add User App" in the main Apps UI), I get the following error message:

com.hubitat.app.exception.UnknownDeviceTypeException: Device type 'Generic HTML Device' in namespace 'thebearmay' not found on line 91 (method mainPage)

Seems like it's looking for another device driver that it's not seeing. And it looks like @thebearmay's driver that you've repurposed, is that right?

Source for it should be at: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/thebearmay/hubitat/refs/heads/main/genHtmlDev.groovy

Thanks @thebearmay for helping with issue. I did not know that you needed both drivers.

@mluck, did you get the ComEd Rate Tracker working?
I use this to turn off appliances and adjust the HVAC in the house to save money.

Yes I finally got it working, thanks! In case it's helpful: there are 3-4 errors in the installation instructions that I had to sort of work through -- other than that, it was a breeze. LMK if you want the edits and I'm happy to pass them along. I can't always just be a taker

Have you by chance figured out the definition (even just conceptually) of the two primary attributes--hourly rate and five minute rate. Not sure what they mean?
