[NO LONGER MAINTAINED] LG ThinQ integration attempt?

Since yesterday my washer and dryer information are not refreshed anymore. I tried to change my password, rerun the app and regenerate the connection but I still have the problem. My LG HVAC is working fine. Any idea ? It is updated in HA.

It would be great if Hubitat could integrate LG natively.

It would be... there are rumors that after the next major release, Hubitat developers will focus on integrations, this one might be on the list

What a great NEWS !!!!!!!!!

I'm in the beta and obviously have some LG, so HMU if you need a tester for a few of these.

Specifically, the 5-burner gas over electric dual-fuel oven (LSD4913ST) and a dishwasher (LDT7808ST). Our fridge, micro and dryer are dumb, but have a recent smart washer (WM5500HWA) as well.

LG app used to show each burner on the cooktop but dumbed it down to a single "cooktop."

The per-burner info still appears to be in the API, so perhaps HE could smarten it back up.

ETA: Now have the smart dryer to match the washer... DLEX5500W

I wanted to add, I have an LG WashTower. It would only stay connected for a short period. I made this change to the code, as suggested. It has not disconnected in >7 days. Thanks for the post.

In HE, my washer and dryer status are sometimes updated, sometimes not. Are yours still working ? It's working fine in Home Assistant, I'm using HA for managing the status now because it's not working fine in HE.

In case somebody else gets this problem I fixed it this way: I clicked on the HE app and then remove both washer and dryer. I clicked again and re-add washer and dryer. And now it works.

Had a cursory look at the new ::: LG Smart Solution API Developer :::

One can get a personal access token to access the API for personal use.

My washer and dryer have generally been working fine with this integration. Had some issues with the washer not updating status at power off right after the 2.4.0 update, but all has normalized since.

I believe I posted earlier in the thread, but what fixed this integration for me way back when I installed this was setting up a webcore piston that runs every 5 minutes that just runs the initialize command on my washer and dryer devices. I have since dialed that back to every 10 minutes. My fridge has always been flaky - even with the LG app - so I never bothered bringing that into HE.

That does not work for me. I'm now using Homeassistant for ThinQ and it works fine.

I'm also using the HA ThinQ integration, and using HADB to bring my washer and dryer into Hubitat. It has been working well and staying connected with no interventions needed.

Maybe I’ll give that a shot as well. No need for the added load of the initialize commands.

Does the HADB approach provide current status (rinse, spin, etc) in HE? I use those to annunciate LED’s in our bedroom, color coded per current cycle.

Edit: I went ahead and tried this, and at least for my devices, and at initial glance, the HE integration seems to work better so far. A couple of immediate observations:

  1. The HE integration seems to update way faster than the HA integration. When I turned both the washer and dryer on, HE showed the “initial” status way faster than HA did.
  2. Similarly, on power off, HE was way faster to show power off. Moreover, my washer drops off the WiFi network shortly after power off. The delay in the HA integration was significant enough that it missed the “power off” status and didn’t pick up until the “unavailable” status. So my washer is currently showing as “initial” and “unavailable” through HADB, while the HE integration just shows it as “power off”.

I’ll keep both running side-by-side for a while to see if anything improves.

I have a thinQ washer with the LG app.

This thread is huge.

Can someone please point me in the right direction? Ta!

This HA integration is the right direction for ThinQ. It is an actively supported, built-in integration.

I don't use Ha, but thanks.

Well, you can lead a horse to water... :v:

Haha...

This horse doesn't have the time nor inclination to learn how to construct a well-pump and bucket to be able to 'easily' drink the water you've gestured towards, a few miles below the surface.

Pointy-clicky app? Yes please. Installing another ecosystem? Not for me :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Both have their pros and cons. Using both solved all my issues. This is a stable environment now.
