No Custom Notification Sounds for Android App

I used to have a custom notification sound for Hubitat notifications but recently, after reinstalling the Hubitat app, I can't set a custom sound for it.

I'm on Android 15 and I think Google may have changed Android to allow for custom sounds per notification category. The Hubitat app doesn't have any notification categories defined though and Android 15 doesn't seem to have any way to set a default sound for the App. If it makes a difference I'm using a Pixel 7.

One solution would be for the Hubitat app to define at least one "General" notification category. Any chance of that happening?

[SOLVED] Well one problem was that, after re-installing Hubitat, it wasn't connecting to my Pixel 7 for notifications. Deleting the "Pixel 7" device in Hubitat and then re-installing the Hubitat app yet again fixed that and I started getting notifications to my phone again. AFTER getting one notification I could then see the category and change the sound.

I see the notification categories on android 13(note20) and android 14(S24 Ultra) for the Hubitat app. Maybe Google changed something in 15? They're always ruining things, so I wouldn't be surprised. Google took away the ability to see MAC addresses in network scanning apps, now the app is useless, just shows a bunch of IP's.

If you can see the IP your router should be able to tell you what the MAC address is.

Correct, but I think it was asinine of Google to limit what apps can display, all while they're peddling our device data.
Anyway I run PFsense so I can see everything from there, but it was handy for mobile WiFi troubleshooting while away from "home base"

Glad you got the notification issue sorted out
