Newbie help with motorized shade controller and Google Assistant

Hi all,

I hope I am posting this in the right place. I am very new to Hubitat (owned it for 3 days) and only starting to build out my home automation. I have a few existing Wifi device (doorbell, outdoor cameras, Garage Door Opener) but planning on going all Zigbee / Z wave going forward.

First up, out of necessity due to very sunny conditions, is my home office where I have installed Hiladuo zigbee motorized blinds (the Zemismart driver worked perfectly). There are 3 windows and I was able to pair each one and create a group. I have 2 minor issues that I am trying to solve.

  1. I can control each blind perfectly using the slider but the group only seems to work for all up or all down, is there a way to use the group to move the slider to half and have each blind respond accordingly?

  2. Is there a way to use Google Assistant and a voice command to do something more fine grained than up or down (Which I think Hubitat thinks is On or Off). For example I want to use the command "Office blind Left Open at 25%" but it does not seem to understand that or any variation of that.

I was able to create some Scenes for different conditions but would love better group or voice control.

Thanks!!

Rob

I just did a test with virtual shades and setting the group to 10% set the two to 10%, so it should work. Here is how I set them up:

I would expect Google Home to be able to set them to a % open. It does work with Alexa.

Thank you Sebastien!

I replicated the settings in your screenshot as a test and it is still not working. My "Test Group" shows up as a new device in my list of devices, which driver should I be using for the group device? The same driver as the individual blinds? I realize that Hubitat does not seem to natively support blind groups (it is using a dimmer), my blinds are actually using a community driver (Zemismart roller shade), is it possible that the group does not control community drivers?

Appreciate the help!

Rob

That’s odd - the group should work with its current driver, but it might be that there is an issue with the version of Zemismart driver that you have (there are a few floating around)… but that is an area that I don’t know much about unfortunately…

Thanks for your help Sebastian. I messed around with the Google Home integration and got to all work so that is progress. It is a bit weird since GH sees blind as Lights and while I can control each individually with with a the word "Blind" (though it gets confused with Blind Centre and Blind Center), to control the group I need to call them Lights. Anyway, they do set to a % so that is great.

Still no luck on getting the group controller to work in the Hubitat dashboard, but at least I have some group control. I cross posted in the Drivers thread for this Blind on Group Control.
