New Zigbee remote

Hi everyone,
We’ve just launched another new product that we think is a bit special.

It’s a Zigbee remote with 5 buttons, each supporting 4 possible actions (up to 20 functions in total), plus a rotary dial for adjustments. For example, you could map a button to a light, use single/double press to switch between brightness and hue modes, then turn the dial to fine-tune.

Does it ship to the US? Looks like it would be about $61 US total with the shipping price that comes up in the cart.

It does look like it could be a handy device, but the price is up there. Do you offer any coupon codes for Hubitat users since you posted it here?

ya too pricy

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the enquiry.

We aren't doing any discounts on this product at the moment, but I'd recommend signing up for our newsletter, as that's where any discounts will be announced.

I don't see me purchasing one of these. However, if you were to make something equivalent to the Iris V2 Smart Fob which can act as an arrival/departure device that can also work with the 4 buttons to use with Hubitat's HSM or other automation features, then that would interest me.

The shortcomings of the Smart Fob (such as buttons that are too easily pressed by accident) could be addressed. I think it could become a popular device, especially if it were also updated to Zigbee 3.0.

Hi Stephen,

Thanks for the suggestion. Are there any specific features you would want?
I obviously can't make any promises but all suggestions will be passed along for consideration.

  1. Keychain format. This is something that I keep clipped to my keychain to track departure and arrival (presence). It needs to be small so it fits a keychain and pocket easily.
  2. Four buttons: arm away, disarm, arm night, and cancel alarm. I mostly use the first three.
  3. Long life for the battery. The Iris V1 keyfob used a CR2 battery. The Iris V2 Smart Fob uses a CR-2450 battery. That made it more compact.
  4. Maintain the capability to be used for departure/arrival so it can trigger arming/disarming of the HSM functions as well as trigger mode changes (away, home/night) which can then be used to control thermostat settings.
  5. Update to use current Zigbee version.
  6. As stated above, try to configure the buttons so they do not get accidentally pressed. I have accidentally armed the HSM system to Away, which means I can't move to a keypad to disarm without setting off internal motion sensors and triggering the alarm. Probably just a deeper recess for the buttons would be adequate.

I think that about covers it. Thank you for your reply and for passing this on for consideration.
