We're excited to introduce a new Weather Quick View Tile with release 2.4.3.149 - available now to install.
The tile appears directly in the Quick View section at the top of your hub's web interface, giving you an at-a-glance look at the current conditions.
The new feature is powered by the built-in OpenWeatherMap driver. To get it set up, you'll need to create a virtual device and configure it with your location and a free API key.
How to Set It Up
1. Get Your OpenWeather API Key
- This driver requires a free API key from OpenWeather.
- You can sign in or create a new account to get your key here: Members
2. Add the Virtual Device
- Navigate to the Devices page on your hub.
- Click the Add Device button.
- Select Add Virtual Device.
- Search and add OpenWeatherMap
3. Configure the Driver
- On the "Add Virtual Device" page:
- Give it a Device Name (e.g., "My Weather").
- Click Save Device.
4. Configure Location and API Key
- After saving, you will be on the device's detail page.
- Enter the API Key you got from OpenWeather in the "Update API Key" field.
- Click Refresh to activate the device.
That's it! Once the device is configured and has successfully fetched data from OpenWeather, the new Weather tile will automatically be added to your Quick View tiles.
