You gotta find this page and make some decisions...my modes didn't readily transfer as I had them in the legacy mode app.
I think it's easier for many of us with "old" eyes too. When I had it loaded, before rolling back, I found it easier to look at. I do agree that a dark mode would be nice. I tend to use dark mode when available as I find it less harsh to my eyes.

Using the ābuilt-inā mode manager (which is newer but not brand new), I havenāt run into any mode change issues. I didnāt even realize thereās a new āintegratedā mode manager.
āBuilt-inā mode manager was pre-selected for me when I checked the modes page under settings, since thatās what I had been using.
Are you saying that your legacy mode manager stopped working until you changed to the newest, integrated mode manager and edited your modes?
Or that the process of transitioning to the newer version didnāt allow for seamless recreation of your pre-existing modes?
Does this only apply if you use the built in mode manager? I donāt use that. I change modes using my own logic.

There are, as of 2.4.0, three versions of mode manager, AFAICT.

Before 2.4.0, I was using built-in. I still am. I havenāt noticed anything wrong with my modes or mode changes.
You're likely good then.
If that makes two of us that ran into this...then I'm just sayin, ....if you depended on one of the apps you might have to do something or even just WANT to switch over to the new integrated one (even if things carried over for ya in the upgrade).
I'm on the latest version(I think). I remember it had the table during setup. Anyway, I selected a mode program, manually changed my mode and it was fine in the morning. Mode manager really doesn't do much at my place. Most mode changes are based on RM logic that monitors what's happening in the house. Being that there are at least two of us that experienced problems it should probably be called out in the release notes as a potential issue.
OK, I give up,...how does the new "integrated mode manager" work? I am using the mode manager app and it works like it always did. When I click on the NEW -integrated mode manager, I don't see anything different. Just curious.
They do the same thing but it looks that they've now bought it 'inside the core' rather than being a seperate App.
From within 'SETTINGS' you can get to the new 'MODES' tool/page.
From there you can select the new Integrated Mode Manger or keep using the external App or another App
I was somewhat mystified by the day selector but after playing around, selecting some days and saving, I get it but I'd like to see a note indicating that 'every day' is selected. Rather than seeing nothing.

The tab name could be more informative for App Status pages. When a tab displays the actual app, the tab name indicates the app name (e.g. Battery Tracker). However, when the Status is open, the tab name implies that it is the full installed app list. Something like "Battery Tracker Status" would be preferable to allow easier tab navigation.
In a separate thread -- @gopher.ny will this issue be resolved?
I'm also baffled by the new "Integrated Mode Manager."
Mine auto-selected "Mode Manager App" because I'm using the newer version of the built-in Mode Manager. When I selected Integrated, the UI disabled Mode Manager and so none of my modes worked correctly. I can't see any way to set up how modes should change using the Integrated Mode Manager. It looks like you select that version if you want to do it all via RM or manually on a dashboard or something like that? But if you want it automated, then use Mode Manager or another app?
Choosing the new integrated mode manager from the slider will disable the built-in Mode Manager app because otherwise they might conflict with each other and the UI would be lying about what is doing the automations. You will need to recreate equivalent automations in the integrated mode manager if you choose to use that instead.
It sounds like you are having trouble figuring out how to do that. The edit/pencil icon next to the mode name (same place you'd edit the name) will bring up a basic automation creator for that mode. Is that what you're looking for?
Of course, there is no reason to change if your current automations meet your needs.

I converted over both of my hubs this morning. Painless.
I like the new interface. I can see where those who are more technical (myself to some would rather have fewer mouse and a more direct means to performing a function (myself to some degree) but there are really not that more added steps by the new interface (in my opinion anyway).
What I do see the new interface doing is broadening the new potential customer base by having so much more information about the device via the columns across the top. Being able to accomplish this without the need to exit the device and individually go to other areas like rule manager, logs, scheduler, you get the idea bring to mind words (although I sometimes came to hate while I was in IT were "user friendly", "one stop shop" etc.
What this does accomplish for us is help the company generate more revenue; which keeps them in business and also helps keep our prices down. Both of which I am sure we all can appreciate!
I really do think the interface is much more clean and crisp whatever that means 
and yes more user friendly. There you go. I said it LOL.
The one thing that still sucks (pardon my English) is the backups still failing. Soon after upgrading I took backups on both hubs I did not want to roll back. I always prefer to do a restore and the backup failed on my primary hub. Will wait awhile and try again.
