And makes me look like a real expert!
So much for a quiet Christmas and New Years for the team.
Not sure if I should do this until after the holiday….
Well done HE Team. It's great!
So on the Home view I have a temperature sensor that, on the device page and dashboard, shows a temp. But on the Home view where the device is listed it shows "undefined" for the temp. Is there a step I need to do or is that a bug?
I went ahead and did it. It was painless and the new UI looks good. I worked with it last night and this morning. It won't take long to get used to it.
Ya I did too.
How awful, starts off by showing how many lights are on and these are socket outlets, not lights, then no clues of how to fix it.
UK date settings still in the wrong order of month - day - year
Icons don't match device types (door sensor looks like a finger on a button, why not a door!)
Sorry
“Door” sensors are actually “contact” sensors. So they can be used on windows, doors, garage doors, sliding doors, cabinets, safes, refrigerators, freezers, any two surfaces that can open and close against each other.
It would be hard to pick one icon to represent all those options, except perhaps a generic contact sensor icon.
When I look at the new icons on the home page, I see what looks like a contact sensor:
The shape on the left represents the sensor, the one on the right represents the magnet the sensor uses to detect open/closed state.
Is that what you’re seeing? Or something different?
Good job folks but not even going to do this update until the holidays are over. With the entire tribe coming over between Christmas and New Years I can't afford to have something go wrong and end up like Clark Griswold. Sparky would mean something new after the wife got done with ripping everything out.
I like the new interface once you learn how to get around in it. Haven't found anything i couldnt do that i previously could.
However, i agree the lights on info in home page is basically useless on any large setup... it doesn't/can't really differentiate lights from other switches (nature of the beast). Eg my house is empty... no lights on..
the only way this could potentially really show correct stats would be to add an attribute or toggle to each device with switch capability to differnentiate. Or in my case search for light or lamp in the device names (kludgy).
I'd (still) like to have the option, via a link, to show a dashboard with the side panel without having to put in something like: http://192.168.1.244/dashboards first. Thank you.
By chance, are you using a composite driver that has capabilities for multiple types of devices? I had this issue with all of my Aqara devices displaying the button icon. There was some talk of making the icons user choosable in the future. In the meantime, I edited a copy of the driver for each type, removing the capabilities not needed. In essence, I made unique drivers for contact, moisture, and temperature.
lol i am not too worried about the icon or newer dashboard changes as i am still old school and running the old legacy dashboards where i can control everything myself,.,. i know not for everyone but once setup has been most reliable,.,. especially the cloud version as i have hubs in 4 locations and can only be in one at a time.
ie
Two examples of contact sensors from different manufacturers
The "Lights on" devices are actually Ikea TRADFRI outlets
When the switches are off, they just look like
You may be right, the old Dashboards had template choices for picking the image type, that seems to have disappeared
"It's not a bug; it's an unintended consequence!"
So far, I think it looks sharp. Just got it today (Dec 25) and it's quite nice. One thing I noticed, however, is that if I am looking at my Philips Hue Multi-Sensor and turn on a light in the room where it resides, the light reading just sits. Even a refresh (clicking away from the sensor and then back again) shows no change.
I too like the new GUI. My update was also painless. But in addition to some of the issues discussed above, I also found that on a Centralite 4257050-ZHAC lamp dimmer adapter, the duration under Set Dimmer might be better put under Start Level Change. As it is, the Set Dimmer does not work although it appears I can change the level from Webcore. BTW, it does identify as the Centralite adapter but I still not have the power level displayed. Also I have the 2.4.0.143 version.
