New TV and impressed for the price

So I was in the market for a new TV and of course I want it at least minimally integrated into Hubitat like my old TV (Hitachi 65R80 Roku TV). So what did I do? I got another Roku TV because they're pretty solid. My main 2 things are being able to turn it off from my bedroom master turnoff button on our nightstand PICO's and to dim the lights after 6:30pm when we watch tv. Of course this all still works because it's roku and I use @armand 'S Roku integration driver which works great. Anyway I ended up with a TCL 75R655 QLED tv and boy was I impressed. It's certainly not the most expensive tv but the picture on it is superb. I would put it up close to the Samsung QN900B which is 3 times the price. If you're on a budget, I really recommend this TV... (Also works out well since we're cord cutters). Startled me when the Dolby Video icon kept coming up on certain shows. Just for the love of what ever god you may worship (or non god), when you buy a new tv, TURN OFF SOAP OPERA MODE! Tv manufacturers really need to turn this off by default!

I have the 65” version, and that is as big as I can go in my house. I just got it last year for my birthday. I love it.

I have Apple TVs now, so I don’t use my Roku code for anything but power anymore, but yes, it is definitely a nice TV.

And since it’s QLED the pixels will last a lot longer than the more expensive OLED TVs.

My Hitachi is just a rebranded TCL but I had a lot of trouble with blue blooms when dark and it was frustrating. Shows like GoT became almost unwatchable. I'm relegating to the kids rumpus room in the basement...

I bought a Panasonic 42” plasma tv when they came out. $4000

Had to give it away when we replaced it. Was working great.

Couldn’t even get a bite on craigslist for $25.00

Everyone wants a smart tv.

This was when my smart ecosystem was ST, so I bought a Samsung TV. Good picture still.

I had a 50" plasma for several years. When I sold it I could not believe how HEAVY that TV was. Compared to my new (current Samsung) 60" LED/LCD it was filled with lead. My Samsung is now 7 years old and due to be replaced I suppose.
