Has anyone gotten the Vallhorn to trigger motion events? I just got 2 of them and, following the instructions here, got it paired, but it's not reporting motion.
Iām still waiting for them to come to Australia
I have a Vallhorn paired to my C8 using Dan's driver.
It's reporting motion for me.
The Tretakt outlet is available in the UK for an amazing £6 or £10 with button controller. This is an unbelievable price!
I'm still confused as to why their original Tradfri outlets are £10 when they don't even have an on/off button. See image
Looks like the Badring is finally available in the US.
Oh yes. Everything was working JUST FINE....that is.. until I decided to upgrade the firmware. Because I noticed I was a few releases behind....UGH....what's that saying about leaving well enough alone.
With all the futzing about I hope I didn't mess up a nicely paired & operational motion on my C5 w/ .147 update. Things may have to settle down like they did after I first paired it some time ago.
Here's what the Firmware update attempt ended up looking like.
sys:1...warnFirmware update for [name:Motion - Porch , manufacturer:unknown, imageFileName:null, fileVersion:null] failed, status:C3.
dev:347...infoMotion - Porch - looking for firmware updates ...
EDIT ADD: OK, removed device from HE, set next to hub, batteries back in, re-pairing process successful and looking good. Reattempted the Firmware update. Getting somewhere. Wrong thread for those details.
Is the Tretakt thought to be a good ZigBee repeater for other devices on a network? I'm outfitting a new home and want to start building a stable network. These look like cheap place to start...
I have only one Tretakt and it's working good in my small-ish Zigbee network. From the Zigbee Map, I can see that it holds fairly strong connections with most other repeaters (no red lines) and it is acting as parent for 4 battery-powered devices (they work fine, no miss-fires).
But yeah, this is just one datapoint, from one user, with only one device; and I'm also an IKEA fan
Make sure you use the latest firmware and update if necessary; you can do that directly from Hubitat, without going through IKEA hub/app.
Is that the TRETAKT smart plug 405.565.11. I have maybe 10 of the Tradfir and like them but you can't just walk over and tap a button to turn it on or off.. LOL! Would like to get more but also see that this is the replacement?
Yep, this is the US version of TRETAKT. You won't be able to find more of old Tradfri versions in the stores, maybe on eBay and such.
For the European version, I like the new TRETAKT a lot more than the old Tradfri, as they are smaller.
Oh that's good! These are bigger than most all of my other smart plugs. Do they repeat for the Aqara contact sensor too? I have a couple that are being little a$$es right now. I might pickup a couple of those Ikea contact sensors while I'm there.
I know folks are using the old Tradfri outlets as "good" repeaters for Aqara, but I have no idea if TRETAKT is a worthy succesor on that part.
I put them on most doors and windows, I like their form-factor. Their sticky tape is really sticky, make sure you place them right on the first try. Also, if you hit the store, get the rechargeable AAA batteries for the sensors (LADDA).
I saw they were AAA. Much easier than the button battery for the Aqara. But I bought a bunch of those so I need to finish them before the Aqara's all die. How long do you go between recharges on normal use doors/windows?
