New Dashboard

Is the HTML attribute not possible in the "EZ Dashboard" with 2.9 (now that 2.9 is GA) ? When adding the the Hub Information Driver device to the dashboard the only possible sensor type is temperature.

I'm seeing a lot of concerns with the new "EZ Dashboard". Some devices will not work with this dashboard.

At the current time it isn't supported, but this functionality (along with cloud access) I believe is still under consideration. First priority was appropriately given to physical devices and devices that closely mimic physical devices. As those are solidified I fully expect that the platform will entertain the speciality virtual devices for the next phase.

I had the betas on my "spare" hub. I was not impressed, so I kind of ignored it. I thought it would be more fully baked before it was released GA.

It's new. It's not like they're just throwing it out there and will never work on it again. It's the start of a new feature that will be continually added to over time. It also doesn't negate your old dashboards...

Like what? I don't think I ever saw "concerned" as one of the words people used about these new EZ dashboards.

That is correct, and maybe some device types never will. It is meant to be an easy dashboard, not necessarily a full-featured one. I have said this before, and will say again that this may not be targeted toward advanced users who want advanced features.

I speculate that EZ dash is going to be the basis for a (possible) advanced dashboard that we may see in the future. I say "possible" and "may" here because Hubitat doesn't disclose future plans, and I have no inside info. But it sure seems like they are moving forward here.

If EZ is going to place the Legacy, it should have all the devices and functions you want. If you make the only dashboard at some point, you will still wish to use all your devices. I don't think you should have to pick and choose if it will show up on the dashboard or not. Or if you get a device, you can get it working under the protocol and automate it to find out you cannot add the dashboard. To me, that is another part to look out for.
You may think, "I am complaining," but I'm expressing that all devices should work, and my concern is that they are moving forward. On my mobile, I don't have access to the EZ dashboard. I am using the beta for that, too. So, I do expect things not to work quite yet.
I often use my dashboards—especially the info titles, as some don't work. I saw the update but haven't updated the hubs yet. So, getting information about the hub, whether things are working or not, is an important us of Dashboards. For me and I think many others.
I'm happy to test, and I'm glad to provide feedback.

It is not, at least from what staff have said on various posts.

I think they plan on rolling that out once things have settled down, and most bugs from the initial rollout have been identified and fixed. Again, they have said this in their posts on the forums.

No, I think you are misunderstanding the goal of this new EZ dash. It probably isn't intended for you. It is meant for a beginning user or someone who just needs very basic controls or monitoring.

So you haven't even tried them yet but are commenting about how they don't work for you?

You don't have to use these new simplified dashboards, you can stay with the old ones indefinitely. I say "indefinitely" because at no time in the past has Hubitat forced a user to upgrade to a newer or different app. Rule Machine is a good example of this, there are what, 4 versions now? There are other examples like Groups/Scenes vs Room Lighting, and Basic Rule vs Visual Rule. All of these still work even with a new variation being introduced.

The new Firmware addresses some of my "concerns".
