I'm trying to setup a first device on a new (well, I bought it last year, just now setting it up because my C4 died) C7 hub. Immediately after booting the hub goes to 'ZigBee network is offline' and stays there -- is there any way to determine if that's a hardware issue? Or...?
If it's a brand new hub and you're getting that, I would put in for a warranty replacement as it's likely hardware related
And while you're waiting...if you set the Zigbee radio to "Enabled" does it seem to come up OK and persist over reboots? Settings>Zigbee Details
I recently had the same issue, they quickly sent out a replacement unit.
Thanks very much for the pointer to the warranty -- I might be out of luck as I bought the hub from Amazon about 5 months ago, but am only now installing it -- I submitted it anyway, maybe the HE folks will work with me on it.
Thanks @danabw -- unfortunately, although the zigbee network appears to be up immediately after rebooting the hub, it goes offline again pretty quickly.
That should be within the warranty period. I'm sure @bobbyD will take care of it.
Maybe if they see that your hub's UID just connected to the Hubitat cloud? Tagging @bobbyD.
There are, sometimes, exceptions to a rule. And your case is one of those cases Replacement hub is on its way. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thank you @bobbyD, that is very much appreciated!
This is why support is so good
True - BobbyD!
And...credit where it's due to @dcamp, who showed up w/a postitive, engaging attitude while dealing with an apparently partially DOA hub. Nice to see the goodness on both customer and HE sides.
Just following up on this issue -- yesterday I realized that I'd left my old C4 hub running (it had failed/would not reboot, which was why I was setting up the new hub). I thought I'd turned it off before starting with the new hub, but hadn't. Once I turned the old hub off, and rebooted the new hub a few times, the ZigBee network on the new hub stayed up after reboot and seems to be working fine now.
So -- yet another case of user error (mine this time) -- not my first, definitely won't be my last
Thanks to everyone for helping while I was sorting this out.
