I have a Hubitat C7 hub. I currently use it to control my Nest Learning Thermostat 1st Generation released circa 2011. I use the now deprecated Works with Nest API. This week I got an email saying that my token would be expired in October 2025.
I like the Nest Thermostats in terms of operation and aesthetics. I have heard that the Nest Thermostat 4th Generation supports local control via Matter. I have no experience using Matter.
Can anyone here advise me as to if my C7 Pro hub would be able to LOCALLY control the Nest Thermostat 4th Generation via Matter? Do I need a Matter/Thread router? If so, then suggestions please?
I use voice control for everything in my Smart Home and my thermostat is no different. So, I actually use Alexa to control my Nest Gen 1 Thermostat via voice. I do not use the Alexa Nest skill. Will I have the same voice control capability if I use the Nest Thermostat 4th Generation integrated via Matter?
