I noticed that one of the SmartThings developers has a work around to get Nest devices integrated with ST's. This is new integration but it works if you still have your devices on a Nest account and it works with limitations if you have moved to a google account. This does not require previous auth tokens.
I am hoping that maybe some of our HE developers have looked at it and can maybe create something similar for us Hubitat users.
That is licensed software, with a fee to use it from the author. Since the author has not ported it to Hubitat, I don’t think any developers would be allowed to. They would be in violation of the author’s license agreement.
You could ask the author if he’d be willing to port it to Hubitat, as it would possibly open up a new revenue stream for him.
I wasn't suggesting that his software should be ported. I thought that since the token can now be obtained that maybe it could be used with a previous Nest integration for HE.
Sounds like a question for @tonesto7. I use a nest integration for Homebridge (the main dashboard I use) and have to paste in the key every 30 days. I still have a Nest account.
I haven't seen @tonesto7 around in a while but this seems like the perfect project for him. I am not a developer but it looks like it is possible to capture the login token and then use it to access Nest devices using it. I have kept my Nest account active so that I can still have Alexa change temperatures for me. But it looks like this method will work with a google account also.
I wouldn’t hold my breath. I think I read that @tonesto7 is finding it hard to get work done from home during quarantine with the family. Not a lot of free time for this I imagine. I’ve been happy with the Homebridge-Nest integration, but it does require a lot more than a Hubitat.
I have my dashboard tile working to control Nest thermostat however the data displayed on the Tile is not showing correct state. data is at idle state all the time, but the buttons are functional. Anyone know if there Is something I'm missing?
