Good afternoon all,
Can anyone recommend what they are using as their aftermarket IR or RF ceiling fan remote kit(s) with their BroadLink RM4 Pro in HA?
Fans are very basic. A few pieces of information related to my environment:
-
I was using Home Depot Hampton Bay and Lowes Harbor Breeze remote control kits (see below). I believe they are pretty much the same and are remotes operating on 333.xx MHz but not completely sure of the exact frequency. After purchasing the BroadLink RM4 Pro hubs I have learned they do not work with them because they are not 315 or 433 MHz
-
Fans are Home Depot Hampton Bay and Lowes Harbor Breeze.
-
I have 8 fans so I need to either be able to control 8 different fans as separate devices (preferred) or 5 fans as separate devices and a group of 3 as a separate device at one time (deck fans).
-
3 Fan speeds. Low, Medium, High.
-
Single on / off light button
-
Current remote has a built in thermostat for controlling fan on / off by temp.
-
I learned from trying to use Bond controllers which provided a reverse option button the fans do support reverse [winter / summer / ] buttons so that would be nice to have on the remote. Reverse buttons nice but not a must have. The Bond controllers did not work out as I learned you could only have one within HA and the range wasn't working out.
I have looked for two days now and can't seem to find any recommendations (even from BroadLink) that would work. I think I am overthinking this one. I want to go with what is known to work by the community and not what the seller is saying will work and in all fairness they can't speak to the BroadLink RM4 Pro interoperability.
As always your guidance and expertise is always appreciated.
Thanks,
- Don
