Need help updating firmware of ZSE40-500

Continuing the discussion from [DRIVER] Zooz Sensors Advanced (ZSE40 / ZSE44):

Didn't want to continue to hijack @jtp10181 's driver thread. Trying to update from version 32.02 to 32.12 and having some issues. Couldn't get it to work in Hubitat or the PC Controller. But I'm not really super familiar with the PC controller so I'm not sure if there is more I could try.

What is it doing on PC Controller?
Should be able to pair it, press Node Info to scan it.
Go to the OTA Updates, press Get Info.
Then you can update.

You will have to wake it up for each query.

Those are the steps I'm doing. After pressing update and waking up the device, the pc controller log says

Requires Authentication 0x01

I tried excluding and including again (directly to the zstick). I was going to try including as S0 but I don't get an option for that when I include. I start the include, click the zwave button twice, and it immediately just shows up in pc controller.

Make sure you do not have the security paused in PC Controller. "Shield" icon up top.
Then do a "RESET" to clear the stick and pair it again. It should pair with S0 by default or give you options.

So I did have S0 disabled. Turned it back on and re-included the sensor. Firmware update still doesn't work though.

I know I was getting that but not sure how I got past it exactly. Possibly just attempting it a few times in a row and it finally worked? I got all 3 of mine updated somehow.

Okay... so I just tried it 7 times and it failed but it started on the 8th... so I guess the lesson here is ignore the logs and just spam update. It appears to be updating. I only have 1 other to do so I'll know what to do...

Now that we figured that out, you might be able to get it to work from the Hub on the other one, but may be easier on PC Controller.

If anything this will be good reference for anyone else with this problem!

Ummm... the device has disappeared off my hub. I couldn't get the zwave replace to work from the hub. The log just says it failed and gives no reason. So I rebooted the hub and when I go to zwave details, node 14 is just missing. To be clear, I did no action that should have removed the device.

I do have a hub backup from early this morning... I guess I'll restore that.

Backup restored. Device replaced. Firmware updated. That took way to long.
