Need help on a smart switch product that will work in 2 way switch config

i bought Tuya ZigBee 3.0 Smart Light Switch 16A Smart Home Automation DIY Breaker Supports 2 Way but it doesnt seem compatible with the way my 2 way switches are wired ...which is as shown

the wiring for the smart switch is

Knowing that I'm limited to the left box has the hot/neutral coming in and the right box has the wires going to the light and there is 3 wires between the 2 boxes.... I can't figure out WHERE to put the smart device within those wiring constraints ...is it even possible? OR is there a different product that would work?

Here is long link to the product i bought

Are you in the UK? It would appear so by those diagrams you show above and the device in question. It would probably help to get specific advice if you could tell us which country you are from. As one example, in the USA we would call that a 3-way circuit, so I hesitate to give too much advise until we are sure that we are on the same page.

Take this for what it is wort, but I don't think you have enough wires to do what you want with that device. You could probably reconfigure some wires in each box, and add a button remote at one of the boxes to make it all work.

Sorry, i didn't realize that its a 3 way circuit but you are correct. I am in the US. I have used Zooz switches ..that accomplish exactly what I want - see diagram

but they are $35 whereas I bought the smart switch for $7
It seems like if Zooz was able to do it then a module would exist to add on to your existing switch.
I have installed the $7 smart switch in a single switch config and it works great.
I've looked at Shelly, Sonoff, etc and can't see how to make any work....Hoping I'm missing something : )

I actually came up with a possibly workable solution based on your suggestion to add a button ...see below....I'm still hoping for a single smart add on module that will accomplish the 3 way

for what its worth, i wired up the drawing and it actually worked. I wrote a simple rule machine rule that said it sw2 changed to toggle sw1 and its almost instantaneous

one other thing....they are on sale now for $3.64 ..very cheap ...have to wait to arrive from China but cant beat the price

Hey Tim - Happy New Year!! Came across your post (BTW-Great Job on Solution using (2) Modules) in a search to resolve the 3-way switch issue when using the 16A Mini Wifi Smart Switch Modules that I bought for only $2.69 each (link below). I am using the Tuya App to setup each mini switch and using SmartThings App to control them all on one App since it works all smart devices by linking accounts - Pretty Cool. Would you please provide detailed instructions of which App and the program steps to create the "machine rule" you mentioned above - sw2 to change/toggle Sw1 so both physical wall switches will work as well. Your reply would be greatly appreciated...

16A Mini Wifi DIY Light Switches Module 2-way Control Work With Tuya Smart Life Alexa Alice Google Home - AliExpress

Using rule machine define a rule
with trigger event being the dummy switch (top of stairs) changing and the action is to toggle the real switch (basement stairs)

Thanks for quick reply - I don't use a hub but I get the idea somewhat and will try using scene automation within the Tuya smart switch App to make work...

Great News - Finally Got (1) Mini Smart Wifi Module to work correctly with 3 Way Switches....

But can't send/post .jpg or .png wiring diagram image??

3 Way Wiring - Using Only (1) Mini Wifi Module...

Thanks - JB10

that diagram only works if the line and load go to box 1

in my case the line went to box 1 and the load went to box 2

That's what I thought at first - But "Later" realized both the Hot-Line and Light-Load come in one box (which is the correct way for any wall switch type) and the Line-Hot was sent back across to the other box via the white of the 3 wire (White / Red-Traveler / Black-Traveler & ground) cable. Disconnect Line-Hot from that White wire and connect to module S1 to work. The dead giveaway would be one of the 3-way wall switches has only (one cable) 3 wire & ground connected to it only.
Where as the way you are describing has (1) 2 wire cable for the travelers and a separate cable for the Hot-Line and Neutral... (Double Check Both Boxes) Carefully...

sounds like you lucked out and the load and line went to the same box...
