Navien water heater - integrating a 12V/5V remote action for recirculation?

So my Navien tankless water heater has an option for adding a "hot button" which can be wired to activate the recirculation mode. Hot Button

There is a youtube video showing a man buying a radio remote with 12V signal and wiring it to the unit.

So I'm wondering if I could find a Hubitat compatible 12V smart switch and then combine it with a Pico remote and/or motion sensor to turn on the hot water recirculation mode on demand.

I'm a total newbie, but this is the kind of thing I think would make my reluctant wife sign on.

This could be done with a relay device..

i'm not much into electronics - I thought a relay sent a constant signal when it was activated (I've used relays in my motorcycle to power add on lights).

Just to clarify - using this device I can send a short "trigger" to the 12V input on my water heater just like a button push? I don't want it to stay in the "on" position.

thank you!

I think so.. I don’t own one myself..
