Just added my Nanoleaf shapes via Aurora driver, and it works great.
One big question - I want effect changes throughout the day, but am unable to figure out how to do this effectively, besides creating a separate RM rule for each change.
Are you able to run Custom actions (setEffect) anywhere besides in RM?
I looked at Schedule Manager, and Room Lighting, but not able to find a way to run the custom Actions.
This is technically a standard command but pretty rarely used; Rule Machine is probably your best built-in option, and even there, you'll have to use it as a custom command, as you've discovered. (Room Lighting doesn't have an option to use it.)
As for your actual automation, you'll have to share a description of exactly what you want to do before anyone can help you with a rule. However, if you have an automation right now that meets your needs and happens to use multiple rules, there is nothing wrong with that; most people would recommend more, simpler rules over fewer, more complex rules. I would not look to change anything for that reason alone. But if you still have concerns, sharing more specifics can help.
