Nanoleaf essential Christmas string Lights

I was just given two strings. What will I see when they are added to Hubitat? A colored bulb? What about scenes - will I be able to trigger scenes?

You need to make sure that the firmware is on the latest or it will drop off the fabric.. You can trigger scenes fine by name

I imagine you will just see a standard RGBW bulb. I have not used this particular product, but that is what ones I have tried show up for me as (I don't know if they support scenes or effects on-device, but it's likely that not every feature is exposed over Matter; they aren't in this case or at least not on the the driver, again at least with just the ones I know).

They show up as generic matter rgbw... but the fields are complete enough to do specific patterns listed in the main nanoleaf app. Very much like the nanoleaf driver. Also it remembers last pattern from power out.

Thanks. I am going to try this today. My main use case is to be able to turn them on and off and trigger different scenes.

Hi. I have them added as generic rgbw bulbs. I am able to turn them on and off. How do you instruct them to activate a specific scene? I don’t see an option in the device settings. Thanks.

You can do it via the device page or rules or use attributes via dashboard. For the basic color wheel on the dash just push and hold the tile.

I can set the color using the color wheel. But I don't see an option to send a scene command or anything like that?

As an aside, I noticed that the Nanoleaf app has an option to sync scenes to Apple HomeKit which when you select it you get a message that this is not supported between Nanoleaf and HomeKit over matter.

Hmm I thought you could send commands for the scene from the device page. @bcopeland can this be added to the matter driver? Or a seperate one for the string lights?
