Greetings. Just got my new C-8 a couple days ago. I'm trying to get this thing connected to my wifi (I have a Netgear router with both 2.4/5GHz), but "MyNewHubitat" never shows up in my list of wifi's (using my iphone). What's worse is that even when I connect to the router with Ethernet, I can get to the hub's settings, but then it refuses to connect to my wifi that way.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
The hub cannot use both wifi and ethernet -- the one does not act as a fail-over for the other, so you need to use only one or the other.
Ethernet is always preferable if at all possible.
ETA -- if you have to use wifi, here are the setup instructions. If you want to change from wifi back to ethernet, there is some info under that particular section.
I hear that, but even before I plugged it into the router, MyNewHubitat never showed up. I waited and waited, zilch. Ethernet is not an option, I'm only temporarily using it to try getting this wifi figured out. Thanks.
On the bottom of the hub is a round holke. It is the only round one out of all the square ones. Using a paperclip or toothpic, insert it in the hole while the hub is plugged in to power for 7-10 seconds then release. Wait 1 minute then check your phone's wifi to see if it shows up in the list. Make sure you are not plugged into ethernet
