My original Hubitat is now resting in peace

Some time over night around 4:00 AM CT my first Hubitat C4 decided to depart for better places. It was put into retirement shortly after the C7 came out but it was still key in working with drivers and test configurations. No lights, tried to resuscitate with a new power adapter and no luck.

FYI, the zigbee/zwave dongle is probably still fine.

Will there be an autopsy?

Is this an "in lieu of flowers please send..." kind of thing?

It's common for the LED to die on these, so just double check it doesn't boot still (check DHCP allocation in case it's changed for example).

I have two C4's like that ..... when the first one went I thought it had died just because there was no LED lit. 3am and a trip to get a drink from the kitchen and the familiar blue glow wasn't there. Stupidly I didn't actually check to see if it was still "alive" and just pulled the power, then swapped the PSU when the LED still didn't come on.

It was only in the morning when I went to look at "disaster recovery" options that I realised there was nothing actually wrong with it and it was still working!

Not allocating an IP address, no power getting to the leads of the LED, no link light comes up on my switch:

Our family tradition is to quickly enshrine the deceased device in the halls of dead technology with a nice placard.

Might I suggest something along these lines?

Here lies our beloved Hubitat C-4
Worked hard, but alas, isn’t with us anymore
As we pray for its ascension to electronics heaven
We await its replacement - a Hubitat C-7
