Multiple iOS Apps

With there being two apps I am wondering about the path of these.
I prefer the new one for being able to quickly access the dashboard and devices. But the old one is better for enabling faster access the connect to the hub and work with Apps and programming in my iPad.

Why two apps? Is the original one being retired, or are they being separated into two functions? Is the old one being worked on or should I just retire it and get used to the new one? Or keep them both for what I like them for?

What’s the plan?
What am I supposed to do? :joy:

I am not an expert, but I went through this just a little while ago.

I think the old one is end of life.
The one with the more solid green icon is the new one.

I had problems adding Smart Start Z-Wave devices. The app is needed to add them, including scanning the QR code. I solved that by downloading the beta version.

You can just use a direct link in your browser while at home to connect direct with hub, with no app involved. Ultimately, probably quicker.

The legacy app (white icon background) is deprecated and not being updated anymore. It was slated to be pulled from the app store a while ago, but due to some lingering issues with edge cases they kept it around for a while longer. The new app is being actively developed and updated, they have been adding new features in with some of the hub platform updates as well.
