Newbie here. I've just set up my hubitat, and my first automation to turn lights on via motion sensor - yay! Its the turning off that's my challenge. Hubitat is set to turn off automatically after 15 minutes. However, sometimes, my husband (who would live in a cave if he could) wants the lights off when he's in the living room at night.
I thought google home would be a way to do this - turning off the lights using voice or the app - but it seems that when you turn the lights on or off with google home, it can only be turned off with google home - i think its doing a manual override?
Is there anyway to use both motion sensing and google home? Are there other options?
Welcome to the neighborhood! Like anything in Hubitat, there are multiple ways of doing something like this. What app did you create your first rule in? Basic Rules, Room Lighting, or Rule Machine would be the most common. Depending on your rule setup would determine some of the things you are seeing.
Most helpful would be a screen-shot of your current rule so folks can see how your automating and suggest ways (in the current automation or separately) to accomplish your goals. (Note that we cannot help you move your caveman into the modern era.)
