Motion Rule Reset after turn off lights with google

Hello!

I am at my wit's end here  I have my motion lighting app rule set up for the hue lights in my garage using the garage switch instead of individual bulbs. It works great and turns off after the time that I entered but I cannot figure out how to override or restart the rule when I tell Google to turn off the lights. I've looked up the manual and I made sure to select the same switch to off as well as give the Google home activation name the same name as the switch, but every time I tell Google to turn off the garage lights, I have to wait for the set amount of time to expire before The rule works again. How can I get it so I can tell Google to turn off the lights and then turn around and walk right back into the room to have the rule restarting and immediately? I really appreciate any help or direction!

At the bottom of the ML app instance, you will see a place for a name to use with Alexa (hopefully Google as well). It creates a virtual light to share to the voice assistant for controlling the lights. That way ML knows that the light changed states.
Edit: Sorry, but if that is what you already did, then the problem is probably the motion sensors being to slow to refresh (become inactive so they can become active and trigger the automation). If that is the case (look on device page for sensor to become inactive), then Hue motion sensors have a default of 10 seconds to retrigger, and should work for your automation.
Or, you could add more motion sensors and combine them in the Zone Motion Controller app. Then you can set the lights to turn off sooner and not rely on Google as much.

Post a screenshot (not a copy paste text) of your Motion Lighting rule.

I also made sure "garage lights" was added to my Google home app and I renamed garage room to "basement" to avoid confusion. So the "garage light" light is now in my basement room. I can turn off the lights easily with the command but I still have to wait until the time is up for the motion sensor to reset

Unfortunately, that is device specific. Some, like Hue, are adjustable. Where I want a fast retrigger time, I use Hue sensors. There are probably other fast motion sensors, but that’s the only one I have used that is adjustable down to 10 seconds.
BTW, the “delay off” doesn’t have any effect on the motion sensor resetting.

Ahhhh okay bummer. Thank you!
