Hello. First post around here after hours of frustration, forum browsing, and app meddling, to no avail.
I have sensors (motion and contact) which I would like to dim outdoor lights to 80% upon activity, with 2 other conditions: "Deactivate Motion" switch is turned OFF, and it's either Night or Away mode. I want the lights to stay at 80% for 2 minutes, and then return to their previous value (Night mode = 35%, as an example). This "return to previous value" aspect is the part that appears nigh impossible without rule machine wizardry, of/for which I have no experience.
This is the last link in the chain for my initial home automation setup! Any help would be immensely appreciated. Thanks.
How do you want the contact sensor portion to work? What if the contact is open and there is no motion or what if the contact closes and motion is still active?
If either one is active ("or"). Truth be told, the contact sensor functionality isn't necessary, but it seemed like a very nice plus that I discovered when trying the Motion Lighting app (for when exiting the house rather than approaching during the night).
I desperately need assistance figuring out how to do said rule machine wizardry. Again, I've spent quite a bit of time trying to get it working already.
