The Monoprice motion sensor 15902 was previously paired with the previous homeowners hub. I did the Exclusion process so the sensor would forget its previous hub. Got the 5 flashes. When I try the Inclusion process with Hubitat, I get the five flashes after pressing the program button with the paperclip, but it doesn't pair, fails every time.
Is there something else I need to do to reset the sensor?
Hey @phil4 , I know I struggled when I moved mine over to Hubitat from a Vera hub. I made some garbled notes at the time that I just tried to interpret. They are garbled becase I wasnt quite sure how it was actualy working when it finally did. I "think" my process was:
Press the button and see the 5 flashes indicating not paired,
Put the hub in inclusion mode and press the button again and see the 5 flashes.
Hopefully the device is found but inclusion isn't complete yet.
Wait about 10-15 seconds from the first press and press the button again.
Repeat step 4 until hub says its been added.
Also, while I'm not sure if it delays completion of pairing (someone on here will know), I just gave the device a one letter name during the process to minimize the delay to completion. It was also a full moon!
This could all be wrong but the manual indicates the sensor goes to sleep after 20 seconds. So I speculate that 20 seconds is not quite enough time to complete the pairing process and repeat presses keeps the thing awake. I know I literally had the sensors within a foot of the hub to do this. So perhaps that helps / is all is needed for getting the signal exchanges to happen as quickly as possible and maybe within the 20 seconds?
Edit: Soothing ambient lighting, new 1.5v alkaline batteries, and a "gentle waves crashing on a pebbled beach" soundscape might also help!
