Or you can change the nightly backup time. I have a nightly rule that does a bunch of device/rule/boolean housekeeping resets - it runs at 3:01 am and takes ~10 minutes. My nightly backup is then set to run at 3:15.
That'll be so friggin weird if that was it.
Also, the least amount of work, lol.
No real need, for me, to do it in the middle of the night.
Good thoughts. In fact, later I saw that in fact I did get the notification that the app ran, so theoretically the command did get sent, maybe just not received. So, it now seems more likely a "receiver problem" than a "sender problem".
Your comment about wifi interference has me thinking. Yes, it's a Z-Wave module. In fact, I was receiving notices about a week Zigbee channel and turned that off yesterday, as I have no Zigbee devices. But, despite the internet modem being powered off, the Google Mesh Wifi is still on... I don't know what, if any, significance that has.
Just now, at 9:30 the "turn off" app successfully turned off the module, and at 9:35 it turned it back on. Now to try it again with the modem plugged in.
This may have been the issue. The routine worked this morning with internet successfully turned off and back on again, well separated from the backup time.
Would be great if the solution required, uh, no real work.
